Guidelines for Measuring Your Dog
- Chest Girth: Wrap the measuring tape around the broadest part of your dog's chest, just behind the front legs.
- Length: Measure from the top of the shoulders to the base of the tail while your dog is standing.
- Height: From the floor to the top of the shoulder blades, measure while your dog is standing on all four legs.
- Neck: Measure the base of your dog's neck, ensuring enough room to slide two fingers comfortably.
- Lower Neck: Take the measurement of the area above the shoulder blades and at the top of the chest, leaving space for two fingers.
- Weight: Use a scale to determine the weight by stepping on it while holding your dog, then subtracting your own weight from the total.
- Muzzle Width: Wrap the tape around the widest part of the muzzle, allowing enough space for two fingers for a snug but comfortable fit.
- Muzzle Length: Measure from the tip of the nose to the point where the muzzle should sit just below the eyes.
- Paw Width: Measure the widest part of the paw, ensuring your dog is standing to get the most accurate measurement.
- Paw Length: Measure from the heel to the tip of the longest toenail with your dog in a standing position.
